Titanium Grade 4

3.7065  /  UNS R50700

Titanium Grade 4 is known as the strongest of the four grades of commercially pure (CP) titanium. It has excellent corrosion resistance, good formability and fabricability and is readily welded.  Titanium grade 4 has excellent resistance to corrosion fatigue in sea water and hence is often used for marine components.  It is also very resistant to a range of corrosive environments including oxidising and alkaline media, organic compounds and acids and nitric acid and wet or dry hot gases.  Titanium grade 4 is utilised in airframe and aircraft engine components, marine and chemical processing plants and in pulp and paper production. Due to its good corrosion resistance and biocompatibility it is also utilised for medical implants.
